Drug Unit Commanders Course

Between October 7 and 11, ILEA Budapest in co-operation with the U.S. Department of State’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) offered a training for Drug Unit Commanders from five countries of the region: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

This one-week course was designed for commanders responsible for supervising foreign operational drug enforcement units. Drug Unit Commanders course addressed all topics from managers’ prospective and included the following Core Topics: operational planning, critical incident response, risk management, officer safety, leadership, ethics and professionalism in law enforcement, confidential source management, controlled deliveries and narco-terrorism. Elective Topics included: financial investigations, money laundering, presentation and briefing skills and task force operations.
