Giorgi Kurdadze

ILEA Budapest would like to wholeheartedly congratulate our alumnus, Mr. Giorgi Kurdadze won the ILEA Day Award 2022 in the category of “Outstanding Operational Success”.

He was nominated by the – State Security Service of Georgia.

Mr. Kurdadze has an outstanding record of attending and participating in numerous trainings and courses on Anticorruption matters, among them were “Anticorruption Series Financial Investigations Course” from April 30 to May 4, 2018, held at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Budapest, Hungary, led by the experts from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and “Public Corruption and Law Enforcement Techniques Course,” held on 8-10 December, 2020.

These two courses especially helped Mr. Kurdadze to better understand U.S. approaches in the conduction of anti-corruption investigations on the criminal cases. The knowledge gained during the courses assisted Mr. Kurdadze in investigating a specific case concerning Georgian state-owned company’s high-level officials and their affiliates, who criminally obtained large amount of funds through money laundering. 3 persons were brought to justice and their properties, including bank accounts and financial assets were seized.

Mr. Kurdadze actively shares his knowledge and experience with his colleagues. His work to counter corruption and ensure rule of law in Georgia supports a key ICS goal.
