ILEA Budapest concluded its second course of the new year, instructed by outstanding law enforcement professionals. This course illustrated proper techniques of crime scene management, documentation, and general evidence recovery. The primary goal was the development of a “team” approach to crime scene management and evidence collection tasks. The course covered the following topics: documentation, administrative and assignment delegation, photography, diagramming, safety issues, and the collection and packaging of physical evidence such as trace evidence and fingerprints. Instruction involved both classroom and practical applications, with an emphasis on varied “mock” crime scenes. Participating countries included Albania, Hungary, Morocco, and Tunisia.
