Concluding another highly impactful and extensive training, the DEA Advanced Narcotics Investigations course wrapped up today.
This one-week course provided a deep dive into both traditional and specialized investigative techniques tailored for advanced-level drug investigations. The curriculum placed a strong emphasis on the supervision and management of complex counter-drug investigations against transnational drug organizations. It involved host country training officials, prosecutors, and welcomed judiciary magistrates, fostering cooperation and collaboration.
Core topics covered international controlled deliveries, conspiracy investigation, and practical/desktop exercises showcasing the imperative need for cooperation in drug investigations. The course seamlessly integrated management workshops, operational planning, and updates on host country laws into a comprehensive curriculum. Elective topics included managing confidential sources, case studies, overseeing undercover operations, officer survival, emergency first aid, and a clandestine laboratory safety overview.
