Officers from the Atlanta Police Department facilitated a panel discussion during a Countering Bias-Motivated Crimes Course conducted from December 3-7, 2018. Members on the panel included local representatives of the Roma and LGBT community, as well as a Hungarian National Police Lt. Colonel who investigates hate crimes. Atlanta Police illustrated to students from Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine why it's important to recognize hate crimes from a law enforcement standpoint and outlined examples of specific types of hate crimes.
