Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Course

Between September 30 and October 4, ILEA Budapest offered a course on Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation. The course examined the issues of human trafficking and child exploitation, coercion for the purpose of economic or sexual exploitation and the organizations reliance on long-term exploitation to continue to produce profits. Participants received and overviewed of U.S. law enforcement’s efforts to combat human trafficking, which is defined as the recruitment, harbouring, transporting, provision, or obtaining of a person for sex trafficking, or for labour or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion, for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.

Instruction for the course was provided by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The group was made up of 32 participants from 4 countries: Albania, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, and Ukraine.
