Anti-Corruption Series: Public Corruption and Internal Affairs

The second part of our Anti-corruption Series program for this year concluded today.
The one-week FBI Public Corruption Internal Affairs course was designed to strengthen employee ethics and the internal disciplinary process. The ethics portion covered topics surrounding the standard of conduct that management must develop and maintain to ensure that appropriate behavior is employed by their officers. The course also covered internal affairs investigations, to include reducing motivation for corrupt practices, as well as adjudication when misconduct is determined to have taken place. The course included discussions and exercises that involved participating officials discussing and developing a disciplinary process, as well as ethical standards of conduct for their own law enforcement agencies.
